The .blend file comprises a simple pattern composed of hexagons and pentagons, which is then arrayed across the plane/surface on a hexagonal grid. Individual polygons are randomly assigned one of two colours (or one of 5 colours - with a tiny, and hopefully obvious, change to the material setup), with smaller areas also being of uniform colour. A slider controls the probability of a polygon being one colour or another.
A .blend file, with a simple mesh object and an example of how that mesh object can be arrayed and randomly coloured in Geometry Nodes.
